Sports News: Cowboys Lock in DaRon Bland with $92M Extension

The Dallas Cowboys have secured one of their defensive cornerstones, signing All-Pro cornerback DaRon Bland to a four-year, $92 million contract extension that includes $50 million guaranteed.

Bland, a former fifth-round draft pick, admitted he was “surprised” by the deal, calling it a dream come true after his unexpected rise to NFL stardom. The move comes just days after the Cowboys’ controversial decision to trade star linebacker Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers—a shakeup that has left many fans questioning the team’s defensive strategy.

The Cowboys also received a boost with the return of Trevon Diggs and rookie Tyler Guyton to practice after knee injuries, though defensive tackle Perrion Winfrey remains sidelined with a back issue.

With roster adjustments in full swing, Dallas now turns its attention to the season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles, where Bland’s new role as a defensive leader will be tested.
